PLATTERS TO SHOWTOWN
THEATER For the 2002 season,The Platters are
moving to their own theater just off the Strip to ShowTown and the former
Patsy Cline Theater. The group appearing in Branson is actually known as
the "World Famous Platters," and the members are Lawrence "Rooster"
Randall, Willie Nash, Eddie Stoval, Walter White, and Dee Dee Hamilton.
"We wish the World Famous Platters success at their new location," said
Lena Hughes, manager (and mom) of The Hughes Brothers.
HUGHES BROTHERS PLAN TO ADD EVENING SHOWS FOR 2002
SEASON The Hughes Brothers, have announced plans for a varied
schedule of 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. shows running from March 22 through Dec.
15, 2002. Changes are on the way for the historic Branson venue as well.
"The lobby will become Grandma's parlor with a warm, inviting homey
atmosphere," according to Lena. "Our new theme will be carried throughout
the theater and emphasize what we are known for - our family tradition."
For 2002, the balcony dinner theater menu will include prime rib, stuffed
breast of chicken and grilled salmon steak dinners with all the trimmings.
Among the awards the Hughes Brothers show and group have received are
Branson's Best Morning Show and Best Guitar 2000, Best Vocal Group and
Best Keyboard 2001 and the Nashville Academy of Independent Recording
Artists Top Five Groups of the Year. "The Hughes Brothers Celebrity
Theatre brings with it a rich history of performers such as the Judds, Roy
Clark, the Mandrells, Glen Campbell, Mel Tillis, Smothers Brothers; the
celebrity list goes on and on. We applaud the Hughes Brothers for
expanding their show schedule. This expansion is a welcome addition to the
